“Many a wishes that I blew, finding myself was the one that came true.”

Personal Growth
Often a person seeks out therapy for personal growth. Perhaps you are yearning for a life filled with more meaning, with a clearer sense of purpose. Perhaps you wish to develop self-confidence, personal efficacy, and a sustaining belief in yourself and your abilities, free of any "imposter" struggles. Perhaps you are emerging from life circumstances and difficult relationships that have robbed you of both your dignity and your hope. Maybe you are thinking about going back to school, applying for a promotion, committing to a relationship, or making another life change. Therapy can help you develop, nurture and embrace the confidence you'll need to put yourself forward.
I strongly believe empowerment is an appropriate goal of therapy and I strive, in all I do, to assist clients in becoming empowered. My approach is wholistic, considering all aspects of your life in order to assist you in developing your best life. I approach this work with tremendous belief in each person's innate strength, inner wisdom, and capacity to heal, and I find in my work with clients that the process of becoming empowered is frequently filled with joy and with our laughter!
Developing a strong centered sense of self is essential to creating healthy relationships that thrive. Therapy can help you to:
Discover the person you truly are - as opposed to the person you have needed to be,
Understand and alter old relationship patterns that prevent you and your relationships from evolving and growing,
Learn about your personal characteristics and determine how they impact both your personal and professional relationships, and
Make decisions about your needs within particular relationships.
Just as therapy can help you establish a clear sturdy sense of self, therapy can also help you navigate life changes. There is wisdom in the observation that the one constant in life is change. We all go through life transitions. Life's major changes are themselves transitions: the birth of a child, a new marriage, divorce, loss of a job, death of a loved one, a new career path, a move to a new neighborhood, state, or country. Any powerful new circumstance you experience can lead to strong emotions and unfamiliar demands to navigate. With each change in life comes an opportunity to ask: "How do I deal with these new circumstances?" and "How do I want to live my life now?" Therapy can help you regain stability in your day-to-day life and help you create a clear satisfying sense of your place in the world. I am well versed in helping clients consciously confront, understand, and resolve the issues that change brings in its wake.
